Most likely the very first thing that gets in the mind of any person when Orlando is pointed out is Walt Disney World Resort. It’s situated around 25 km from the city limits of Orlando, and is an amazing adventure for kids and families especially.

Walt Disney World’s various places to go to

Within Disney, there are 4 amusement parks with a towering structure in each to represent the distinct style, distinct from the other amusement parks. Each has its own taste to cater to various tastes in theme parks, but in all probability, you’ll want to visit each of the various style parks yourself, which isn’t a bad concept. There are also water parks for those looking to cool down in the summertime shade while having some wild and damp enjoyable.

Universal Studios Orlando – 3 parks to visit

Another incredibly popular place to go to while on holiday in Orlando, Florida is the Universal Studio’s Orlando resort, which is located near the interstate 4. Like Disney, there are subsets to the group, which desires and serves different needs of the visitors. The most popular daytime tourist attraction to anyone who considers Universal is the Universal Studios Florida. It is a theme park, much like Disney, that has actually themed activities taken from or influenced by the motion pictures made by Universal. The styles are segregated by sections in the park, and there is likewise a devoted Kid Zone in the park for active fun.

These six islands also have their own distinct feel to them, like the Jurassic Park Island, drawn from the book and motion picture of the exact same name. That’s the philosophy celebrated at Universal’s Volcano Bay™ water theme park.” If you want to avoid queues, you can get their TapuTapu™ wearable you will not have to stand around waiting in a queue or keep carrying a raft around the park. Just “check –in” at the ride and you get a time to return to take your place and ride.

As this water park is brand new for 2017, we haven’t yet had time to explore and review. Our next visit to Orlando is December 2017 and we will definitely be taking a closer look.

Sea World Orlando

SeaWorld, best understood for Shamu the whale, has a theme park based in Orlando. Unlike either Disney World or Universal, there are no distinct styles separating the areas into differently styles of entertainment.

Sea World Orlando Feeding the Seals

Not just does Seaworld have rides and destinations, it also has displays devoted to the display screen of marine life. Not just are the activities at SeaWorld enjoyable, but they’re also instructional, and let visitors gain brand-new respect for Earth’s sea animals. Ranked the 7th most visited park in the United States, Seaworld is also a very good option for everyone to have enjoyable and find out something. Their brand new rollercoaster “Mako” is not to be missed for those who have an adventurous nature – highest, longest and fastest are best used to describe it. And if you want to feel like you are flying in air, just like the giant rays in the sea, then take a ride on the “Manta”.

Busch Gardens is a sister park to Sea World, but this is in Tampa Florida – about an hour’s drive from Orlando. Combo tickets often include these 2 together plus a number of other theme parks mentioned here.

With these great holiday choices, it’s no surprise that Orlando, Florida has turned into one of the leading getaway worldwide. Having a getaway in Orlando will certainly be something that the family will never forget.

This is a water park not far from SeaWorld and Discovery Cove. The rides here are a little more family oriented than say, “Wet ‘n Wild”. We especially like the lazy river where you can put on your free flotation device and let the gentle current of the river take you on a slow tour around the park.

Very relaxing after enjoying some of the faster slides this theme park has to offer. Overall, we score this water park higher than Wet ‘n Wild, but, for sheer luxury in terms of a water park visit, then Discovery cove is a “must visit”.

Discovery Cove

Here you get a chance to swim with the dolphins! This theme park is different to all the others, because you have to reserve the day you want to go there. They restrict the total number of people per day to around 1500 so that the park does not get over-crowded and you do not have to queue up for long periods of time to use the rides in their water park.

Parking Tips

Another thing… if you buy a day trip to Discovery Cove, as part of the Sea World, Busch Gardens (Tampa) and Aquatica combo ticket, you get an added bonus. Parking at each of these theme parks is around $17 per day, in addition to your ticket. So, if you plan on visiting them say 8 times during your 14 day use of these theme parks, you pay an extra $136 in parking.

Plan your stay so that you visit Discovery Cove on the 1st day and get FREE parking at all 4 theme parks for the 14 days. So, in fact you get to go to Discovery Cove for nothing at all. In fact, if you visit these theme parks more than 8 times (you can go there for 13 more days after Discovery Cove on a 14 day park ticket), you save yourself a lot of money too.
I promise you, if you include Discovery Cove as one of your places to visit, you will want to come back again. For customer service, this theme park has yet to meet its equal!
If you travel during the Xmas holiday time, not only are the parks open longer hours but you also get to see some special one-off shows. For those of us from more northern climes, having some winter sunshine is a must and if you combine that with Orlando’s pleasantly warm weather in December, you get the best of all worlds when taking your vacation here.
